My machine would require three of the universal replacement filters. By the time I stack them, I end up with half rubber edging and half filter. Also, the price for one full size filter is less than three universal replacement filters. It's a good deal.

I'm not sure how many stars to choose.. the product itself is like 4 and 1/4 or 1/2 :) but free shipping abroad is very rare thing on Amazon...

I found it here at the best price and it was delivered rapidly and fit perfectly. I can use that room again. Silly how little furry things can make such an unpleasant atmosphere! I did not want to purchase another blower box just because the filters were no longer easily available, but ordering through Amazon is easy enough and I have not had any problems.

HEPA-5030 Duracraft Air Cleaner Replacement Filter Review

Reason being is because of the misery of allergy season and declared that I wasn't going to suffer through this again. I have discovered since the first purchase that one needs to have one purifier for the living room and another one for the bed room.
Replacement filters are still available on line; just search for Duracraft 5030.
We have three dogs and the dust and dander was getting to be a real problem in our house. So we brought the Duracraft out of the garage ( it was mothballed) purchased a new filter and now we are in business again.
The Duracraft Hepa 260 which is identical to the Honeywell HEPA 200, has three speeds; Super (near hurricane strength) High and Silent. We run ours on High. Now it's only fair to warn you that the 260 moves a lot of air with it's powerful motor; which is louder than our Honeywell 18155 but that is a good thing. I we want a powerful motor to exchange as much volume of air as possible; also compared to the 18155, the Duracraft has more intake vents and moves more air too.
The 260 has an optional ozone switch; the jury is still out as to the pros and cons of that issue; but at least you have that option available to you.
The only thing that's missing would be a change or clean filter lights like on the 18155; but that is a minor issue. We prefer the Duracraft 260 over the Honeywell 18155 by far and it's a disappointment it is no longer available.
We vacuumed the 260 when the filter looks dirty thus saving $$$ n a new filter. Which doesn't seem to effect it's performance. TRUE Hepa filters are still available at iallergy (online) if you search duracraft 260 or model 5030.
AHAM rateing for this unit is 170 for tabacco, dust & pollen each.
If the white noise will be an issue with you, you may want to concider the less powerful Honeywell 18155
We recommend that you operate your Honeywell air cleaner 24 hours a day because indoor air can be quickly contaminated by activity in a room, infiltration of outside air, and generation by sources of contamination. While all the air in a room will not be processed by the air cleaner, the more air circulated through the filter, the more filtered air returned to the room. Portable air cleaners will be much more effective in rooms where all doors and windows are closed.
The Honeywell True HEPA air cleaner is ready to begin cleaning the air as soon as it is removed from the carton and plugged in. Because it circulates air in a 360 degree pattern around the air cleaner, it can be placed on the floor in almost any location. However, for best performance the air outlet slot should not be blocked for at least 1 meter (three feet) in all directions.
Due to the large volume of air drawn towards the air cleaner, surrounding areas should be cleaned and/or vacuumed frequently to prevent buildup. This may help keep your home cleaner and may extend the life of your pre-filter. If the unit is placed on light colored carpeting, a small mat or rug should be used to ease cleaning and prevent any permanent staining. This is particularly important in homes with heavier contamination from smoking or fireplaces.

Upon contacting them, they have no return policy, except to ship it back at my expense, as well as having to eat the initial shipping. Since there was no choice, I did so, although I am now at the point where the 2 shipment costs are starting to approach the cost of the unit itself.
When they received it, it has mysteriously become "damaged", despite being in the same wrapper and box, therefore ineligible for any refund at all. My next step would be to file a damage claim with UPS. I can guess how well that will go.
Needless to say, this is my last experience with this company

(More customer reviews)We bought the filter at the recommendation of our allergist. We bought it for our bedroom to try to cope with my nighttime nasal stuffiness. We had already removed the rug. After owning it a year, we haven't seen any dust accumulation on the inner stage 2 filter.
On the other hand, our central air/heat filter--where we've installed a top of the line filter--may be taking all the work away from junior, so I can't say for sure whether the fault lies with the filter.
In other words, it may be that if you've already put a quality inline filter in the central system, this portable filter is redundant.
I'm now investigating a humidifier (my son swears by it), and I've started using a neti pot (nasal saline rinse from what looks like a little tea pot). Neither of these were on the allergist's recommended environmental steps to take list. My recommendation: try these two things first.

(More customer reviews)This is a good air filter. It does the job of cleaning the air so you can breath. I live in a basement. There's water damage and clothes left there. So it was real hard to breath. I also didn't know if the air had mildew, or other living organisms.
I woke up with bad headaches or a stopped up nose. Some times I would just be sick with cold type symtoms.
The reviews on this item were 21 out of 22 (good) on one site and the same kind of thing on others. I used chatt window customer service with a site that sells air filters. They recommended a $500-600 filter. The reviews on it were not even close to this one.
I decided to go back give it a try. I got the same results as they did. I can breath. I'm not stopped up or sick every day. I trust the air I breath. Its worth the money.

17005, Honeywell QuietCare Programmable Air Purifier with Permanent True HEPA Filter Review

(More customer reviews)So far I really like this air cleaner. I moved up to this model from a smaller Honeywell cleaner for a couple of reason. One being more air volume moved per hour, and the second is the larger, more "permanent" filter. The pre-filter should be changed every 2-3 month, but the HEPA filter should last 2-3 years according to Honeywell. You can get the pre-filter for $7-$12 so that's not too bad. I had to replace the filter on my smaller unit every month or two and it was $15 each time.
I do wish this cleaner was a touch more quiet, but what noise it does have would not prevent me from purchasing this unit again.
I have this unit located in the garage not far from a 19" TV that is also remote controlled. Although, I don't use the remote that came with the air cleaner, I did find that the mute button on my TV remote would not only shut the air cleaner off, but would also reset to it factory specifications, so I would loose the time on the clock and any of the two programs you can run.
This started happening right after I got it, and it took me the next day to finally figure out what was causing the random shut-downs. I'm glad now I didn't pack the unit up and return it. The simple solution was to cut a little piece of black electrical tape and place it over the IR eye of the air cleaner. Problem solved.

One was actually oozing the stuff. Now the house smells like motor oil; not good for those of us who are chemically sensitive. This item was intended to help clear an 11x11 bedroom from allergens as well as refresh stagnate air. It does not disappoint. The air is clean and odorless in just a few hours of initial use. There is a very natural feel to the room as well. My allergies have considerably improved as a result of running this machine on low. How does it sound? Well I can't even hear it from six feet away on the low setting. On it's medium setting you definitely hear it running, but it isn't a motor sound or a hum, it's just like a box fan. The high setting is the same as the medium only a bit more forceful. You begin to hear the hum. It doesn't rattle. I bought mine at iallergy.com and had an amazing experience. It's $94.00 shipping included. I had two day delivery and prompt friendly phone and email service. I'm particularly impressed with the high CADR ratings. A note on this though...This particular air purifier works in a 15x17 room, and I have mine in an 11x11. What this does is allow you to run the machine at low and avoid any noise on the medium setting (not that it is overly bothersome at that speed). Also, when you kick it up to medium or high, the refresh rate is super fast. Now, GO GET ONE and make your lungs happy! Ya-Ta!
