It is quite powerful, and generates high levels of ozone, so you won't want to run it longer than two hours in any room, no matter how much deodorizing you think is needed, and you won't want to enter the room for at least an hour after the unit stops running.
If you have LARGE, DAMP, basement rooms to clear, you may want the larger unit, but this one of more than enough for anything else you throw at it.

I foster cats/kittens and have up to 20 animals in my home/garage at one time. I keep everything spotless but because of new animals, etc. there are a few that have been marking for a long time. I purchased at least 8 gallons of this product and used it exactly as prescribed. I have wood floors and you can only saturate so much without ruining them (I probably did in a few areas!). It never stopped them from returning to that area. I even used this product in conjunction with Feliway, as suggested. Nothing worked. When I contacted the company regarding my dilemma they said they could not help me because I purchased the product from a company other than themselves. I would always search for the best price considering I was purchasing so much! There was a $20.00 difference per gallon in some instances. I can say that the product smells nice! Other than that, it did not work for me and there was no help from the company once I had a problem with it. So much for their money-back guarantee!! I think they need to add a disclaimer where people can see it, that the product must be purchased from the manufacturer to be guaranteed. Since then I have tried Eco-88 which seems to work as well or better than anything else I have tried.

Then again instead of buying two smaller units for my small cottage I decided for one larger unit. It's more like a large oscillating fan on medium to high when the air purifier is on it's lowest (quietest) setting. Definitely circulates the air in the room and I have to say I was amazed on how much dust it collected... within a month I cleaned the pre-filter and it needed it. Take into consideration it pushes air from right to left when facing the unit so you can't place it just anywhere in the room.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this machine about six months ago. I have four small pomeranians who are house dogs and are inside while I am at work. I put down pee-pads for them while I am away at work, so you can imagine, I really wanted an air purifier to keep any odors out of the air. I am very happy with this unit's performance.
It is heavy but can be wheeled from room to room on its casters.
It is not the quietest machine - however, for those of you who sleep with fans on or white-noise machines, you can throw those out as this until will replace them and put you to sleep in their place. It does put out a LOT of air volume on high - again if you sleep with a fan on for air flow and want this in your bedroom, you can dispense with it and save on your electric bill by not running both machines.
I have not had to replace the filter yet - which carries a hefty cost - but I consider it an investment in health and quality-of-life so to me it is worth the cost.
It took about two days to really kick in but now when I come into the room, there is definitely a sweet smell in the air. Not sweet as in perfumery but sweet as in fresh-air smell.
I definitely will buy another one of these units when I can afford to, for the living room.

Pros: very good fan motor, silent and good filter capacity.
Cons: the filter check indicator did not work well since 4th month and the manufacturer want me to send it in at my expense to have issue resolved. The fan works as desired thus i will live with the error light.
Other down side filters cost $160 to replace.

(More customer reviews)Have used several less expensive HEPA filters in the past with less than stellar results - the Blueair 501 cleans the air more thoroughly - I would wake up occasionally coughing before (most likely due to pet dander) - have not had this happen since running the purifier at night on setting "4" of 5. I also have a neighbor who's second-hand smoke sometimes drifts in through the pipe fittings - the smell has disappeared, too. This unit is more expensive but it's worth it - am very satisfied!

It was dirty inside and had a missing plate. The power cord was pushed through the filter in the back. All in all, I would have sent the machine back anyway. Also received the price of the machine back but did not get a refund on shipping or having to ship it back. Ended up out $34 and with no product.

New in the box! I created this listing, so the photos are of the actual item you will be receiving! It was only taken out of the box to be tested for a few minutes to make sure everything was in working order, but other than that, it's brand new. This brand of air purifier is awesome! I have used one for years, and it cured my allergies! It also kills 99.99% of germs, bacteria, mold and mildew!! This is a must have for any home! It works in the same manner that a rain storm works to clean the air. It was designed using the same natural processes. The air smells cleaner, because it IS cleaner! (More customer reviews)I was desperate for something to control the odors from a litter box used by three adult cats. I'm normally a skeptic but I figured I could return this if it didn't work. I tested the Smellkiller when the box was in need of a change, just to see if it lived up to its hype. I washed the disc in a little soapy water to remove packing dust as instructed, placed it in the dish with tap water almost all the way up to the top, and placed the dish directly on top of the litter box. After three or four hours, the smell was unnoticable in the apartment and hardly perceptible even when we stood right next to the box. As a bonus, a nearby windowless bathroom was completely free from mildew odor for the first time since I moved in. Amazing.
