I bought two, *but my wife turns the one in the living room off when she gets up before dawn*. I have to remember to turn it back on. Low or high speed this thing can be heard. Low is not really any quieter, but probably less effective.
This is basically Honeywell's souped up answer to Ionic Breeze. Its noisy because the ionic cleaner is built around a tower fan and a new type of cleanable IFR filter is added. Its a much better value than the Ionic Breeze, Oreck and similar models. I just wish that it was quieter!!!!!
After one month, I saw some dust in the filter and cleaned it. These put out plenty of negative ions, which are great for chasing the blues away and making dust particles fall to the floor for you to vacuum them up. You will see the dust on the flour, rather than breath it into your lungs!
As long as you don't mind WHITE NOISE, this is better deal that oreck or ionic breeze in my opinion. Its half the price and tested to do a better job.
This one has a built in tower fan. A verticle squireel cage, if you will. If they could just make the darn thing less noisy it would be perfect!!!

(More customer reviews)The first one I bought had two problems: the clock did not work and the fan had an annoying whine. I swapped it for another. The second one also whined, and, at higher speeds, the whine became intolerable. I gave up and returned it as well.
On the plus side, it seemed to do a good job filtering the air.

Designed for large rooms up to 19 by 21 feet, this air purifier changes the air up to six times per hour and provides a CADR of 260 for smoke, 260 for dust, and 260 for pollen. Its effective three-speed whisper-quiet fan draws air into the unit without excessive noise, and exhausts clean, purified air back into the room from the top of the unit to avoid stirring up settled particles. Replacement filters include a 30901 prefilter and a 30931 HEPA filter. The air purifier measures approximately 17 by 10 by 25 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.

(More customer reviews)Very small jar that may have a scent if you really sniff hard. Put it on a linen closet shelf and it didn't seem to do anything. This is a storage space for handed down lace and linen with the old papers in a box odour. After a month, opened the shelf and no difference.

I bought the dual pack for the savings, but overall the money for product puts it in the middle price category for purifiers and it's absolutely worth it. One of my units went in the bedroom, so noise was a huge factor. All the reviews of this unit being quiet on Level 1 were spot on, I can't hear a thing when it's on 1 in the bedroom. It also had a slimmer design than the floor units, and mine mount on the wall very nicely to still allow furniture to be situated around it. Two thumbs way up.

I bought this to use in rooms of my home and office, not my refrigerator, so I don't know how effective the size of this product will be for that purpose, which is why I gave it only three stars.
Hopefully it will work equally well for using outside of the fridge, but only time will tell.

Thankfully, my credit card isn't billed until it ships - which it never was! It appears that they ran out of the product, but I am left to assumption here. NOW I can't even cancel the order !!!! Shame on you, GOVAC, for your terrible service (or lack thereof)....
